For site and product owners: get visitors without an ad budget
If you run a small product, a tool, a shop or a community site, you already know the trade: either you pay for clicks, or you spend your own hours on distribution. Loopis is a third option. Your site gives a little attention to other independent sites, and gets attention back from them.
What you would otherwise be doing
An ad platform asks you to create a campaign, define an audience, write and resize creatives, set a bid and a budget, and then watch a dashboard. For a one- or two-person product that is a second job.
In Loopis you connect your site and say what you want more people to reach — a product page, a launch post, a signup page. The copy, the layouts, the matching and the optimization are done for you.
How it pays for itself
- Your pages show labeled recommendations for other members. When a visitor follows one and stays, you earn growth credit.
- Your own promotion is shown on other members’ pages about related topics. When a visitor arrives and stays, credit is spent.
- A new member starts with credit worth about 200 visits, so your promotion can run before you have earned anything.
- Every night the whole network is settled at once. You are not tied to one partner.
What counts as a visit
Only a visit your own site confirms. The script on your page reports that the visitor actually arrived and stayed about ten seconds, or read a quarter of the page. Bots, repeated clicks and clicks faster than a person can make are not counted and cost you nothing.
If you want to know what visitors did next, one line of code reports a signup or a purchase for visits that arrived through a recommendation.
loop('track', 'signup')Control over your own site
- You choose where units appear, by dragging a sample on a copy of your page, or by placing a slot yourself.
- You choose how they look: automatic, native, minimal, image-first or text-only, matched to your site’s font and colors.
- Units load after your page, in an isolated container, in a script under 3 KB compressed.
- You can pause your own promotion at any time.
What is not here yet
Paying money to reach more people than your credit allows, and earning money from the visitors you send, are both planned as paid advertising. Neither is available today. Until then the size of what you receive follows the size of what you give.
Questions
- I have very little traffic. Is it worth installing?
- The starting credit lets your promotion run from day one, so a new site still receives visitors. After that, what you receive follows what you send. As a starting assumption, about 1 to 5 visitors follow a recommendation per 1,000 page views.
- Can I choose which sites show my promotion?
- No, and that is deliberate: matching is by the topic and language of the page. You see afterwards which topics your visitors came from.
- Can competitors appear on my site?
- Recommendations are chosen by topic, so a site on the same subject can appear. You can block specific sites and whole categories under Settings → Controls.
- Does it work on single-page apps?
- Yes. The script watches for new slots after client-side navigation. The placement preview needs server-rendered HTML; for an app that renders only in the browser, place a slot element yourself.
- Is there an API?
- The browser SDK is documented. A server API for reading your statements is not available yet.
