Every recommendation is labeled
Each one says who is behind it (“Promoted by …” or “Sponsored by …”) and that it came through the network, and links to a page explaining why it appeared. Neither the site showing it nor the member being promoted can remove the label.
What may be promoted
Pages on a site the member controls: an article, a newsletter, a product, an app.
Not accepted: adult content, anything illegal, hate or harassment, graphic violence, scams or deceptive offers, and content that infringes someone else’s rights.
How copy is written and checked
Copy is written from the promoted page itself. A number may appear only if it appears on that page. Guarantees, unsupported superlatives (“the best”, “#1”), hype and shouting are refused, whether the copy was written by us or edited by the member.
How recommendations are matched
By the language and topic of the page, and by how each creative has performed in similar places. Never by who the visitor is.
Reporting
Anyone can report a recommendation from its “Why this?” page. A reported recommendation is recorded for review.
