Choosing where units appear
You decide where recommendations appear on your site. Most members never touch their markup: they point at the spot in a preview and the script puts the unit there.
Automatic position
If you choose nothing, the script adds one unit at the end of your main content — the article or main element — where a reader has just finished.
Preview and drag
Integrations → Preview on my site opens a copy of one of your pages with a sample unit in your site’s own font and colors. Move it by dragging, by tapping the place you want, or with the up and down buttons, then press Use this position.
- The position is remembered as a location in your page’s structure and applied to every page built the same way.
- A page that does not have that location shows no unit.
- You can switch the preview between your own pages and between phone and full width.
- Back to automatic removes your choice.
The preview needs HTML that your server sends. A site that renders only in the browser, or a page larger than 6 MB, cannot be copied; place a slot by hand instead.
Placing a slot by hand
Add an element where the unit should appear. Without a size it becomes a recommendation block that takes the width available.
<div data-loop-slot="article-end"></div>Fixed banner sizes
Give a slot a size to get a banner. The space is reserved before the unit loads, so nothing on your page shifts.
<div data-loop-slot="sidebar" data-loop-size="300x250"></div>| Size | Usual place |
|---|---|
| 300×250 | Sidebar, in content |
| 320×50, 320×100 | Phone width |
| 728×90 | Above or below content |
| 970×250 | Wide page header |
| 160×600 | Tall sidebar |
Limits
- Up to 8 slots are filled on one page.
- The same promotion is not repeated among the units loaded together.
- A slot with nothing relevant to show collapses and takes no space.
