Traffic quality and invalid traffic
An exchange only works if a visit means the same thing from every member. So before any value moves, each site’s traffic is scored.
The score
Each site gets a score from 0 to 100 over a recent window, from three things: how many of its clicks were valid, how plausible its ratios of views to clicks to confirmed visits are, and how the visitors it sends behave after they arrive.
What the score does
| Score | Effect |
|---|---|
| 40 and above | Earnings are scaled by the score. |
| Below 40 | The site’s traffic earns nothing, and the receiving sites are not charged for it. |
| Flagged | Earnings are held for review instead of entering the normal holding period. |
What gets a site limited
- Clicks generated by scripts, click exchanges or paid click services.
- Asking or paying visitors to click.
- Placing units where they are clicked by accident, or hiding the label.
- Pages made only to carry units.
If it happens to you
A limited site is shown no units and earns nothing while limited. A network operator reviews flagged accounts; every operator action is recorded in an audit log.
